Straight to the exchange
Your browser opens one WebSocket to Binance's public combined stream — no server of ours in the data path. Adding a market or clicking a tile changes the subscription live with SUBSCRIBE frames, batched every 500 ms to stay under Binance's five-per-second limit.

A ladder, not a retry loop
A socket that fails, drops, or goes silent for 10 s is replaced after an exponential, jittered backoff (0.5 s doubling to 30 s). Two failures on one endpoint step down the ladder — Binance, its mirror, then Coinbase — and after five minutes on a fallback it tries the top again.

One paint per frame
Messages land in plain buffers; a single requestAnimationFrame pass redraws only what changed, so a hundred messages a second still cost one layout per frame. A hidden tab drops the trade and book streams, and after five minutes closes the socket.

Alerts that live with you
Rules are checked on every tick in your browser and kept in localStorage — nothing is sent anywhere. Level alerts fire on the crossing, once. Move alerts compare against a price series seeded from 1-minute candles, so they work from the first second.
